My name is Becky (베키). I am 21 years old, and I live on the south coast of England. I am a recent university graduate, having studied photography for 3 years, and am now on my way to becoming a teacher, with one foot firmly onto my career ladder having just landed a job as a teaching assistant.
I have been interested in Korea for a number of years now – I find the culture fascinating, and the language beautiful. I am a huge fan of Korean cinema, with Park Chan-wook and Kim Ki-duk being my favorite directors, with Park’s Oldboy and Kim’s Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter …and Spring being among my favorites of all time. I have also just started to explore the vast world of Korean dramas, and am currently enjoying 1st Shop of Coffee Prince. I would very much like to visit Korea one day, and possibly even live there for a while – after I have completed my teacher training, I may look into an ESL residency.
The purpose of this blog is as a place of study: for me to gather my thoughts, practice and reflect on my progress. At the time of writing this, I have only been learning Korean for a few weeks so have a very, very long way to go, but I couldn’t be more excited!
